Vase - turquoise

opaline glass, tinted a soft, chalky turquoise that glows when the light comes through. The shape is a trumpet body on a pedestal foot, with two small ear handles. That silhouette is typical of mid-century opaline from Italy, particularly the Empoli and Florence workshops, and of French makers such as Portieux Vallérysthal, from roughly the 1950s and 60s.
