SARAH-JANE CLARKE is about luxurious and playful capsules centred on pieces that travel well. Great items come and go in limited edition, and become available only when they're ready to be cherished and discovered - we're about slow fashion and having a minimal footprint. This lookbook marks our first capsule, which will deliver slowly from our October launch all the way through the New Year.
The 2018 capsule is inspired by the far-flung destinations visited by founder Sarah-Jane Clarke during her 3-year fashion industry sabbatical, including Morocco, Japan and the kingdom of Bhutan, one of the gateways of the Himalayas. Here, we explore natural fabrications in loose silhouettes that swim away from the body - perfect for a Summer's day of unrelenting heat. The colour palette is muted and classic, as if you had just hung your clothes out to dry and they got faded to a perfect sun-bleach. Throughout it all, we favour a lighthearted touch - the pleasure of travel lies in the fun and joy of discovery, so it wouldn't make sense for us to be all serious. Therefore, everything you see in here, from big pouffy sleeves to Grandma's wallpaper prints, is to be worn without preciousness and always with a smile - after all, to feel our best we should never forget our most playful side.
